HARRY POTTER Director David Yates is reported to be eyeing the recent Oscar nommed Jessica Chastain to play the role of Jane in his upcoming retelling of the TARZAN mythos.

The movie is rumoured to focus on a post-jungle Tarzan (played by TRUE BLOOD’s Alexander Skarsgard) being tasked by Queen Victoria to travel to the Congo and kick the arse of a trouble-causing local Warlord. (Though we doubt she uses those words.) Samuel L. Jackson is also rumoured to be on board as Tarzan’s ex-mercenary ally.

To be honest, if the above approach to the material proves accurate then this suddenly sounds like a far more interesting movie than we were initially expecting.

We’ll have more TARZAN news as it develops…
