James Wan may have hung up his horror shoes directorially, but he’s still up for producing a scare fest. Hence Crawlspace (formerly known as Within) is on the horizon and while director duties go to Phil Claydon, Wan will be producing the film. After this years Insidious: Chapter 2, Wan declared that he was moving onto different genre pastures (shame his final effort was disappointingly uneven effort next to Wan’s other 2013 film The Conjuring) with his next film being 2014’s Fast & Furious 7. The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop and lists the synopsis for Crawlspace is as follows:

“A family that moves into a new house and immediately falls prey to strange occurrences. But what seems like a traditional supernatural thriller gets twisty when the rug is pulled from under both the family and the audience.”

Written by Gary Dauberman and directed by the same chap (Claydon) that helmed the horrific (for all the wrong reasons) Lesbian Vampire Killers, the film may have some fearing the worst. With New Line wanting to cash-in on the success of The Conjuring (already announcing spin-offs), there may well be more films on the way boasting Wan as producer. Keep an eye out for more details on this upcoming horror feature.
