2015 just got a bit spookier! (Or not, depending on how the last film left you feeling.) Yes, Insidious 3 gets an official release date and weirdly its far from Halloween season, landing on April 3rd 2015. James Wan’s highly profitable franchise has scared up a current total of just over $245 million worldwide, so it was inevitable that we would tiptoe through the tulips again. Both films have reunited the principle cast including Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Barbara Hershey, Lin Shaye and Leigh Whannel (who has also co-wrote), and while confirmation of the cast and crew are yet to arrive, Chapter 3 may likely see some returning faces (Shaye and Whannel are rumoured to return).

We await more details on this sequel, which likely won’t have James Wan (who’s retiring from directing horror, though not from producing it) at the helm. Insidious 3 hopefully will give us the scare tactics and old fashioned thrills of the first film to help remove those pesky memories of this year’s inferior and haphazardly assembled Insidious: Chapter 2. Can Chapter 3 deliver a room with a boo once again?
