Hmm, we're always a tad cautious when a film is pushed back, especially when the move involves a fair few months. So, that said, it’s a little worrying to hear that Roland Emmerich’s INDEPENDENCE DAY 2 has been pushed back by nearly a whole year.
Initially planned for a 3rd July, 2015 release, the sequel will now hit screens on 1st July, 2016. No reason has been given for the move at this point and, with little details known on plot or cast, it certainly throws up many questions.
All that is known at present is that the film has two finished scripts – one with Will Smith on board, one without the Fresh Prince – and that Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum are to return.
Consider us with our sceptical hats firmly donned.
