Remember that Jon Favreau-helmed version of THE JUNGLE BOOK that became ‘a thing’ towards the end of last year? It seems as if things are moving forward in terms of casting, with Deadline reporting that LUTHOR star, Idris Elba, is in final negotiations to voice villainous, manipulative killer tiger, Shere Khan.

Very little is known on the upcoming Disney-produced retelling of Rudyard Kipling’s famous tale, although I’m sure you’ve got an idea of the basic premise. Away from the plot of an orphaned boy called Mowgli being raised by wolves and befriending a bear and panther, it’s already been confirmed that this version of the story will feature a mixture of live-action and CGI footage. It’s also worth noting that Warner Brothers are also developing their version of THE JUNGLE BOOK, although that’s currently stalled after director Alejandroo Gonzalez Inarritu left the project.

Elba’s dulcet tones as the sinister Shere Khan? Yes, yes please.
