And there was us thinking that this Easter weekend was proving to be a little slow on the news front, then this huge story broke. Yes, somehow there’s an apparent market out there for this stuff, as I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE 3 is very much happening.
After the original rape and revenge tale was remade in 2010, last year brought an absolutely awful sequel. Yet still this franchise has legs, apparently. CineTel, who produced the last two efforts, were happy enough with the home release numbers for I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE 2 that they’ve decided to go into production on this third outing.
In regards to specifics, the story “will focus on a serial killer that uses a crisis hotline to target rapists. One of the counsellors has a dark past, which sends detectives sniffing in her direction – but is she the killer they’re looking for?”
The outlet is still looking for a writer and director, although there’s a good chance that Steven R. Monroe, who helmed the last two instalments, will return for this latest effort.
Expect more on this as it develops.
