Treat this purely as rumour for now, but if true then this is pretty freakin’ cool. Be warned, there be those pesky spoilers ahead.

SPOILERS

Hitfix managed to pay a recent visit to the set of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. Whilst there, they got word of certain developments in the movie and then they’ve pieced the rest together with detective work.

What the outlet claims is definitely true is that the climactic battle between The Avengers and Ultron will see Bruce Banner stranded on a Quinjet. Where is the jet heading? Why that’d be off Earth, with no way to turn around and pre-programmed to continue its course until it comes to a natural stop. Now comes the speculation bit…

After learning of these developments, Hitfix believes that Banner will finally come to rest on a planet that just so happens to house the Guardians of the Galaxy team. This will be the main story arc for the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY sequel and will tie into THE AVENGERS 3. This GUARDIANS sequel will see the band of space pirates helping the Green Goliath to get back to Earth. Only thing is, this whole event will draw the attention of the Mad Titan himself, Thanos… which is where we lead to THE AVENGERS 3; a movie that is already confirmed to feature Thanos going up against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

As mentioned, treat this as speculation for now, but it all sounds rather cool, no? The whole ‘shot off into space’ part would also tie nicely in if Marvel Studios were looking to give the go-ahead to the long-rumoured PLANET HULK movie, although Mark Ruffalo recently shot down the idea of a future Hulk movie using that famed comic book arc.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is set for a UK release on 24th April, 2015.
