Some stories come along that get you in a state of seat-clasping excitement, others amuse you and then there are those that once seen can never be unseen. Consider this one of the latter cases – you have been warned. Now that Twilight is dead and buried (good or bad, you decide), a new featurette has emerged from the Twilight Forever Blu-ray set, detailing the reasoning behind the CGI baby in last year’s Breaking Dawn Part 2. Some would argue a CGI sprog was the least of the series’ problems but it was still an odd and somewhat freakish addition.

Well, not so much, because if you thought a CGI Renesmee was bad, wait until you see the animatronic puppet they were going to use. In fact they filmed scenes with this doll which was so freakishly inhuman looking that the cast and crew nicknamed it “Chuckesmee” (no need to explain that reference). This thing looks like it has crawled from hell laughing. The doll freaked out even Director Bill Condon who, in a discussion with Entertainment weekly, said:

Chuckesmee was a giant misfire on all fronts. Truly, it was one of the most grotesque things I’ve ever seen. It was a horror show! There was one shot where I call, ‘Cut!’ and suddenly she turns her head and mechanically stares right into the camera. It was incredibly disturbing.”

Here is a clip released by Yahoo of the film’s crew discussing the curse of Chuckesmee. The Twilight Forever Blu-ray set is on release in the US now, with a UK Release date to be confirmed:
