Dario-Argento

Legendary horror director Dario Argento is reportedly recovering at home after falling down a flight of stairs at his apartment in Rome.

According to his manager, Paolo Zelati, the Italian has suffered injuries to his head, neck, back, ribs, and legs. This meant he had to spend some time in hospital, but is now home with his personal assistant caring for him.

Sitting, standing and walking are causing him immense pain and his physician has ordered him to rest until at least the end of July.

This unfortunate incident has meant the cancellation of his planned appearance at Indianapolis’ prestigious DAYS OF THE DEAD convention.

Most famous for his ’70s output such as THE BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE, DEEP RED, SUSPIRIA, and INFERNO, he recently announced his latest project, THE SANDMAN, a serial killer film which has old punk rocker-turned-insurance salesman, Iggy Pop attached.

We wish Dario a speedy recovery.
