Sam Raimi’s Ghost House pictures are moving forward with a new adaptation of the John Wyndham’s 1951 sci-fi novel The Day of the Triffids

Neil Cross, creator of the Beeb’s Idris Elba starrer Luther, has been hired to pen the new take, which will mark the fourth time the tale of psychotic shrubbery has been made for the screen following on from the 1962 film, the fondly remembered 1981 BBC serial and their 2009 two-part re-telling.

Is this Triffid news to you, or should Hollywood leaf it well alone?
