Just over a month. In just over a month now the newest slice of Middle-earthian goodness by way of Kiwi genius Peter Jackson will be released on a cinema screen near you! Unless, y’know, you actually live in Middle-earth or something.

To celebrate (note: to keep the hefty hype train a-rolling) a new chunky trailer has rolled out full of all sorts of loveliness to follow on from the earlier batch of brand new posters.

You’ve got new Elven duo Orlando Bloom and Evangeline Lilly (their characters probably have different names), a gaggle of grouchy looking fighty dwarves, Ian McKellen’s Gandalf talking mysteriously about darkness, creepy spider hoards, a whole lot of gold and, yes, even the briefest snippet of vintage Cumberbatch gold as the titular scaly hell-beast.

The film is set for release on December 13th and as a final marketing push a big HOBBIT fan event was organized across London, L.A., New York, Mexico City and Wellington. On top of premiering the new trailer there, the production crew (because they’re such lovely ladies and chaps) presented a brand new production diary.
