Prometheus

Many people have kindly pointed out a huge flaw in my detective skills in that neither Nov 10th or October 11th (if the date is written the US way… most likely), would be a suitable day for a DVD release. The first being a Saturday, the second, a Thursday. So that rules that out!

While rightly disagreeing our assumption that this date was anything to do with the movie’s home video debut, @weylandnews on Twitter pointed us to the Weyland Industries corporate timeline, and low and behold October 11th is indeed a pivotal day in the mythology. This, in the Prometheverse, is what happens on that day…

Weyland Corporation is recognized as a legal entity and corporation under United States law and receives their Certificate of Incorporation from the Companies House in the United Kingdom. Due to the combined value of Sir Peter Weyland’s various patents and patent-pendings, the company incorporates with a higher fair market valuation than any other company in history.

Has anybody got a clue as to why this would be at all relevant? It’s interesting for sure, but I’ve got a sneaky feeling we’re all being played a little here…
