It just goes to show, no matter how dreadfully a film can be reviewed*, if it makes enough scratch at the box office, nothing else matters. Money talks and bullshit walks, to quote SPINAL TAP. And so, as HANSEL & GRETEL sails past the $200m mark with ease, Paramount have now officially announced that they will go forward with HANSEL & GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS 2, despite nobody actually wanting one. Including (we presume) star Jeremy Renner, who utterly failed to muster even a flicker of enthusiasm towards the movie during his recent press stints. Don’t be surprised if Renner’s lawyers are already on the phone trying to get him out of his contract.
