Whereas recent weeks have seen further news on outings both big screen and small screen for FRIDAY THE 13th’s Jason Voorhees, now comes word that Michael Myers is getting set to dusk off his Bill Shatner mask and stalk the streets of Haddonfield once more in HALLOWEEN 3D.

The last that audiences saw of Michael was back in Rob Zombie’s 2009 HALLOWEEN II. Since then there’s been some talk of continuing Zombie’s series, whilst HALLOWEEN 3D is something that has regularly been in the pipeline. Now comes word that the 3D option is back on the table, with The Weinstein Company looking to move forward with the movie.

At this stage, no writers or directors are on board, although the last time that the project was a ‘go’ it had Todd Farmer and Patrick Lussier working on a screenplay. Whether they will be brought back into the fold, whether their draft will be used in any way at all, or whether things will simply start from scratch, we’re not sure at this stage. Similarly, it’s now know as to whether HALLOWEEN 3D would be a continuation of Zombie’s movies or whether this would be another restarting for the iconic Michael Myers.

Expect more on this as and when it develops.
