Justice League Dark

He’s a busy man is Guillermo Del Toro; for every project you think he’s got on the go, he has two others.

One such film still hidden behind the ambiguous shroud of the future is DARK UNIVERSE, which del Toro is apparently keen to utilize in creating a unified JUSTICE LEAGUE world.

Speaking to MTV, the champion of children’s nightmares said, “I think that the great thing about the DARK UNIVERSE is that you have this possibility of basically creating this supernatural group, and you can play with different worlds, but I would love to see the DC Universe become as cohesive as the Marvel Universe.”  Teasing that “if there is any correlation I will honour it.”

In regards to the film itself, the HELLBOY director said “I’m writing it right now. I’m rewriting the outline. We have a writer that we’re waiting for, so I said to Warner I will rewrite the outline in the meantime.”

The DARK UNIVERSE film – which may yet use the title JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK – will see DC favourite Constantine trying to recruit other DC Universe characters Swamp Thing, the Demon, Deadman, the Spectre and Zatanna.

Guillermo del Toro’s next film (that actually definitely exists) is PACIFIC RIM and is released July 12th.
