Promoting his MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, director Joss Whedon has been speaking to BleedingCool. As per the norm with Whedon interviews these days, the Marvel topic raised its head. One point of interest is that the director revealed that we won’t be seeing any members of the Guardians of the Galaxy team appear in THE AVENGERS 2.

Whedon said, “We’re following GUARDIANS with AVENGERS 2, but we won’t be swapping cast members. Every movie is its own thing and has to be.”

It was previously believed that GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY would flow straight into THE AVENGERS, with character cross-overs presumed a certainty. Even if there is no cross-overs, I guess the events of the GUARDIANS film could be the cause of whatever happens in THE AVENGERS 2.

It’s also believed that Thanos will be pulling the strings in both GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and THE AVENGERS 2, with him taking centre stage as the ‘big bad’ in THE AVENGERS 3.
