…‘s voice.

To my personal devastating disappointment, Oscar nominated Bradley Cooper will not be dressing up as a spacefaring hero raccoon, merely voicing him.

That’s alright I guess.

His appointment has been churning around the rumour mill for a little while now and it’s finally got the Marvel seal of approval, which we can only imagine is the Hulk punching his fist-print into the offending document.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY really couldn’t get any more bat-shit weird. It’s one of the few Marvel properties that the world at large either doesn’t know or doesn’t care about and stars the aforementioned rodent Han Solo along with a talking tree. Just in case, y’know, you started feeling like the sanctity of your dreams were safe.

While the talking tree may or may not yet be voiced Vin ‘Brighteyes’ Diesel (because obviously) the confirmed cast includes Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Glenn Close and John C. Reilly.

Because the most perplexing IP on the market deserves an equally eclectic cast to bring it to explosive, band-lagged, wide-eyed life.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is in cinemas from August 1st, 2014.
