Yep, ‘fraid so.

Even though EVAN ALMIGHTY (the 2007 spin-off to the hugely popular Jim Carrey original) severely under performed at the box office, Universal are heading back to the well to bring us a third helping of the mortal-gets-tought-a-lesson-by-a-God-with-apparently-sod-all-better-to-do “comedy”.

Despite the talent involved, both films have failed miserably to bring a smile to the face of this writer at least, and most of us here couldn’t be less enthusiastic about another, even if the studio are successful in coaxing Carrey back (it’s hard to imagine they’d be bothering if they didn’t think they had a shot. Unless the back-up plan is to churn out one of those nasty direct-to-dvd sequel-by-name only efforts.) 

The writers of the equally unfunny HOT TUB TIME MACHINE Jarrad Paul & Andrew Mogel have been given the unenviable task of making anyone give a shit, but a writer’s got to eat we suppose.

We’ll have more on this as it develops… Actually, no, we probably won’t bother.
