Ghostbusters

It seems that Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg couldn’t crack the tone of supernatural action and comedy for the third GHOSTBUSTERS film as they have been ‘let go’. If two of the smartest comedy writers in the biz couldn’t crack it there doesn’t seem much hope…

Recently speaking with a radio station to promote his Crystal Skull brand of vodka, Dan Aykroyd let slip that the production was moving forward with at present unknown writers as the film ‘has to be perfect’. Whether this is just so Bill Murray signs on is anyone’s guess.

This is a film I really don’t want to see as I don’t want it to sully the memories of the original two films from my childhood. It didn’t work with Indiana Jones and I don’t think it will work here, the time has passed…

Whether the plot still has to do with the older Ghostbusters handing over the reins to younger up and comers is anyone’s guess but this is one dead horse that doesn’t need flogging.
