A little while ago a short teaser trailer appeared online for David Cronenberg’s adaptation of Don DeLillo’s 2003 novel COSMOPOLIS. It was bizarre to say the least and promised an against type Robert Pattinson as well as Cronenberg’s weirdest mind trip since NAKED LUNCH. Now that the film has been given a prime slot at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival, a full trailer has been released:

Although it’s not quite the return to full on body horror we hoped, this does look like Cronenberg back in the realm of the bizarre. COSMOPOLIS tells the story of a young millionaire travelling across New York to get a haircut in a high tech limo. He encounters several peculiar characters including hitmen and giant rats all whilst losing a fortune on the stock market. As well as Pattinson the film also stars Juliette Binoche, Jay Baruchel, Paul Giamatti, Samantha Morton and Kevin Durand.

No word yet on a UK Release date but most of Europe gets this in May and June so we shouldn’t be too far behind. Millions of twi-hards and their parents are about to get scarred for life.
