If you’ve read the magazine, visited the website or listened to our radio show over the last few months, you’ll know that we’re not too keen on how things are shaping up with Josh Trank’s FANTASTIC FOUR. One thing that particularly had us on edge was the rumour that the FF’s greatest villain, Doctor Doom, was to change sex and be a woman in 20th Century Fox’s reboot. The Wrap is now reporting that the shortlist to play Doom is now down to four names, and the good news is that they’ve all got a penis.

The ‘fantastic’ four names that are up for the Victor von Doom gig are, clockwise above, CONTROL’s Sam Riley, DEAD MAN’S SHOES’ Toby Kebbell, LES MISERABLES’ Eddie Redmayne and HARRY POTTER’s Domhnall Gleeson.

With Miles Teller now cast as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Kate Mara as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing, shooting is expected to start this month. As a result, we’d expect to hear some sort of Doctor Doom confirmation shortly.

FANTASTIC FOUR is currently scheduled for a 19th June, 2015 release.
