Having always been a DC over Marvel fan personally, it kills me to see the company doing such a terrible job of getting their characters on screen. And as for the notion of a unified universe ala THE AVENGERS, forget about it. With the studio having their very own crisis recently as to what to do about it all – their rumoured solution: a blanket-wide reboot, and that includes Batman. 

The lynchpin of the universe is obviously DC’s answer to The Avengers, The Justice League, and as previously reported (here) there’s currently a script by Will Beall garnering a fair bit of buzz around Hollywood. The latest update comes from Variety, who are reporting that Ben Affleck is currently reading it and might possibly want to direct. Well, that’s what Warner Bros. are hoping for anyway. With the Benniffer days finally behind him (apart from when pricks like me remind you of it), the actor’s directorial output has been extremely well received, with GONE BABY GONE and THE TOWN snagging more than their fair share of rewards.

Will the he step up and deliver a movie that launches the DCU on screen proper?
