In a rare change of pace, Japanese director Takashi Scimizu has taken a break from sequelising, prequelising, and remaking his debut feature JU-ON (or THE GRUDGE as it’s more commonly known) to head up CBS Films’ supernatural thriller 7500.

The movie will tell the tale of the passengers on board Vista Pacific Flight 7500, who witness something sinister while in the air. Something on the wing of the plane perhaps? Snake infestation? Zombie outbreak? We don’t know for sure just yet as details are skant, but the situation naturally owes itself to much suspense if handled right.

As for the rest of the talent involved, CBS Films have gathered LOST writer Craig Rosenberg to pen the screenplay, with TRUE BLOOD sex pest Ryan Kwanten & CRANK star Amy Smart playing the married leads, and Leslie Bibb (IRON MAN) starring as a feisty (we suspect) Flight Attendant.

No release date for this yet, but we expect it to hit sometime late 2012.
