With all this buzz about Man Of Steel, Christopher Nolan and a possible Justice League movie, it’s easy to forget that Warner Bros. have been turning out great comic book adaptations through their animation division. And that’s something we’d like to address and correct. And so…

It was revealed to Newsarama that the next DC Comics adaptation, after the upcoming Superman: Unbound, will be Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and will be based on the Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert 2011 Flashpoint series, which thrust the DC Universe into the New 52 reboot.

The official description from Warner Bros. Animation reads as follows;

“When time travel allows a past wrong to be righted for The Flash and his family, the ripples of the event prove disastrous as a fractured, alternate reality now exists where a Justice League never formed, and even Superman is nowhere to be found. Teaming with a grittier, more violent Dark Knight and Cyborg, Flash races to restore the continuity of his original timeline while this new world is ravaged by a fierce war between Wonder Woman’s Amazons and Aquaman’s Atlanteans. With breath taking action and an all-star voice cast, it’s a bold, emotional vision that will forever change the landscape of the DC Universe.”

The full cast details have yet to be released, but fan favourite Kevin Conroy will return to play Batman/Bruce Wayne (in the non-Flashpoint era). He will be joined by, Hellboy himself, Ron Pearlman as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke and Dana Delany (Superman: The Animated Series) who reprises her role of Lois Lane. Also returning is Vanessa Marshall (Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths) who will reprise voicing duties for Wonder Woman.

Keep em peeled here for more casting news as it’s announced and check out the first image from the film above.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE FLASHPOINT PARADOX will be released on Blu-ray combo pack and DVD in the US on 30th July 2013, with no UK release date set at this time (although most Warner Blu-rays are region free so it’s well worth an import).
