The first Trailer for Joseph Kosinki’s (TRON: LEGACY) sci-fi action movie starring Tom Cruise has been released, showing us what’s left of a ruined Earth, abandoned after a war with aliens 60 years prior where Cruise remains to repair automated battle drones that search out alien scavengers on the surface.

While some set pics did surface online previously showing Cruise in New York in what now appear to be flashback scenes, this is the first we’ve seen of the post war Earth where Cruise works with Andrea Riseborough’s character, flies his nifty little aircraft around, repairs drones, plays basketball in the ruins and reminisces for the Earth that was, before he finds a survivor at a crash site (Olga Kurylenko) that turns his world upside down.

Also seen in the trailer are a glimpse of Morgan Freeman as a mysterious character, as well as some nifty looking set pieces with the Drones and Tom.

Based upon this OBLIVION could be one to look forward to.

OBLIVION will be released on the 12th April in the UK and on the 19th in the US.
