Earlier this year the artist formerly known as Mr Oizo caused a minor sensation with his directorial debut RUBBER. Quentin Dupieaux’s first movie was all about a killer rubber tire with psychokinetic abilities and was as insane as it sounds (read our review here). Even the actors taking part in the movie took time to break the fourth wall and comment on how absurd it all was. Whilst it didn’t all work it was at least interesting thematically as well as visually.

Wasting no time, Dupieaux has directed another film called WRONG, and it was recently announced it would screen at the Sundance Film Festival in January. A brief teaser trailer has now been released:

Yep so far so crazy, The official synopsis for the film goes something like this:

‘Dolph searches for his lost dog, but through encounters with a nympho pizza-delivery girl, a jogging neighbour seeking the absolute, and a mysterious righter of wrongs, he may eventually lose his mind… and his identity’

What to make of all this I’m not sure but I love Dupieaux’s David Lynch meets Spike Jonze by way of Alex Cox sensibility. The film stars Jack Plotnick and genre favourite William Fichtner. No word on a UK release date yet or if it will play the UK Sundance Film Festival that is happening in April, but fingers crossed!
