Okay, so this isn’t a production photo but is a piece of concept art and is a major clue as to the tone that this fascinating project is going with. THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS stars Katherine Heigl as a detective in an alternate world where puppets exist alongside humans and are treated as second class citizens. A former star of an ’80s kids puppet show is murdered and Heigl must team up with a puppet detective to get to the bottom of things.

So it’s like WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT but with puppets instead of toons with a noir slant and will be directed by none other than son of Jim, Brian Henson. The film has been in development at the Henson Company since 2008 and is one of the most intriguing sounding films in production at the moment.
