With 20th Century Fox having just about alienated every Marvel Comics fan on the planet with their plans for the reboot of The Fantastic Four, is there anybody out there who gives a damn about the project?

Well, just in case there is, you might be interested in knowing that Tim Blake Nelson (Lincoln) is in negotiations to play Harvey Elder, a.k.a Mole Man.

The subterranean villain was the first enemy that the Fantastic Four battled after gaining their cosmically endowed powers in Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s 1961 comic. Just how much the film version will resemble his comic counterpart in Josh Trank’s movie is anybodys guess. Will he play a major part in the story? Will the Mole Man and Doctor Doom unite to create havoc for the Fantastic Four? Or will it be more of a… (ahem)… miner role.

Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Michael B Jordan have been cast as the four heroes, with Toby Kebbell playing their enemy Doctor Doom.

Fantastic Four will be released on June 18, 2015 in the UK and June 19 in the US.
