Actually, we have it on good authority that he’s a pretty stand up guy, but that hasn’t stopped Alexandre Aja (SWITCHBLADE ROMANCE) and Frank Khalfoun (P2) from casting the elfin one in the lead for their upcoming remake of ’80s slasher MANIAC.

French actress Nora Arnezeder (SAFE HOUSE) will play Anna, a photographer who befriends Wood’s titular nutter, a somewhat troubled individual who enjoys a bit of lady stalking in his spare time.

It definitely sounds like a bold choice for Wood, who’s fanbase might take umbrage to their pin-up scalping his female victims. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the scalping. Seems that even eight years on the actor is still trying desperately to step out from Frodo’s (little) shadow.

Regular collaborators Aja and Khalfoun have once again co-scripted, with the latter taking on directorial duties.
