Eli Wallach

The versatile and prolific actor, Eli Wallach has died at the age of 98.

Despite having made a resume of over 160 roles, he is perhaps best known for his appearances in the cult westerns THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY and THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. He also played Mr Freeze in the sixties BATMAN TV series. Other genre appearances include Michael Winner’s THE SENTINEL (1977) and underrated Italian thriller, PLOT OF FEAR (1976).

Wallach was one of the first to practice ‘Method Acting’ and became a respected and much-loved character actor on both stage and screen. He continued to act well into his nineties. As well as BAFTA, Tony and Emmy Awards, he received an Honorary Academy Award at the Governors Awards in 2010.

STARBURST sends his family and friends our deepest sympathies.
