Daredevil

The news that Marvel is expanding the TV leg of its universe, after recently making a deal with Netflix, has brought much excitement, potential and just as many questions. Who is appearing? Which characters will join the fray? What the hell will Marvel conquer next! Well The Wrap is reporting another reason to get excited for this venture into TV for Marvel, as they’ve announced that Cabin in the Woods director/co-writer Drew Goddard (a regular collaborator with J.J. Abrams and Joss Whedon) is in talks to write the Daredevil television show.

Of course this is early days of Marvel/Netflix’s agreement but Goddard is an ardent fan of the big red blind crime fighter. Earlier this year while in conversation with Collider, he spoke of his Daredevil adoration, saying, “Even when I was 18, I still had the blood red door with the, ‘I have shown him that a man without hope is a man without fear.’ That was what I loved and so it’s the sort of thing that if we can find the right project, I would love to do it.”

An encouraging sign then, and it’s likely that many readers out there will be jumping for joy to hear that a real fan will be penning the leaping lawyer’s new live-action incarnation. The last time the Daredevil character was seen was in the maligned and misjudged 2003 feature, starring Ben Affleck (ok, ok, sorry but we had to bring it up sometime!).
