After a few reports circled the rumour mill, it has been confirmed that Don Cheadle’s War Machine is to feature in 2015’s THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.

USA Today first stated following his Golden Globe nomination that Cheadle “has a part to film in the next Avengers movie” causing some deliberation, but now HitFix have confirmation that War Machine is to stand alongside the all-star cast of heroes. It is still unknown however how large his involvement will be, but hopefully we’ll get to see him suit up alongside the Avengers and not just simply amount to bickering fodder for Tony Stark.

Considering Joss Whedon has previously stated that he’s bringing in more heroes for the sequel, the inclusion of War Machine does seem like a logical step. He was also a little bit underused in the finale to IRON MAN 3, so to see Mr. Cheadle finally get his moment would be a fitting toast to the character.

Perhaps the better question would be why he wasn’t in the original Avengers movie in the first place? We need answers, Whedon!

THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is set for release in May 1st, 2015.
