Okay so PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN did big business, but HAUNTED MANSION flopped so Disney are hedging their bets and going back to the theme park well for another ride inspired film.

MR TOAD’S WILD RIDE was launched at the Disney parks in 1955 based on their 1949 adaptation of THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS and its characters. The ride will now inspire a new film being overseen by TRON LEGACY producer Justin Springer and will be a mixture of live action and CG. Writers are currently being brought in to pitch their ideas for the script.

THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS has been notably absent from screens for a while. The ever busy Guillermo Del Toro was of course working on a version a few years back but that’s all gone quiet. Will this be a full on adaptation of the classic book or just an extended action scene based on a five minute ride? Best thing they can do is hire a creative genius and not the advertising or music video directing hack they are probably looking at.
