AVENGERS ASSEMBLE is now barely a month away and we know what’s going on with the next stand-alone movies in the THOR and IRON MAN franchise, but what about CAPTAIN AMERICA?

A sequel is a certainty, whether it will be set in present day or back in World War 2 however is a point of conjecture amongst fans. Setting it in a modern setting will seem to be an uphill struggle due to the characters general old school heroics and morals. AVENGERS ASSEMBLE could address this somewhat and put these fears to bed, but back in the war seems to Cap’s natural fit.

The directors that are vying for the job of helming the sequel are as follows: George Nolfi (THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU) F. Gary Gray (THE NEGOTIATOR) and Anthony & Joseph Russo (erm, TV show COMMUNITY) so they are going for the mid-range fairly untested director instead of an A lister. What is Joe Johnston doing that he can’t get out of? He was perfect!
