With Josh Brolin now reportedly signed up to play Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s still a little hazy as to just how prominent the Mad Titan’s presence will be in James Gunn’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. Now comes word from Vulture on just how Thanos will appear in Gunn’s space opera.

Apparently, the main way that we will see Thanos used throughout GUARDIANS is as a hologram, much akin to Emperor Palpatine in the STAR WARS saga. He will be in communication with Lee Pace’s Ronan and Karen Gillan’s Nebula during the film, and also mentioned as a major threat by the Guardians team themselves. There is, however, one moment where we will see the ‘big bad’ in the flesh, as he will appear in a scene with Ronan Nebula. As suggested previously, Thanos will play puppeteer here, with him taking centre-stage for THE AVENGERS 3.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, John C. Reilly, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, Gregg Henry and Glenn Close, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is released on 1st August.
