Despite flicking the V’s to all the detractors moaning that they can’t hear Bane’s voice properly in the TDKR preview footage, director Christopher Nolan has reportedly gone back on his decision NOT to alter the audio.

Speaking to THR recently, an anonymous but high-ranking exec at Warner Bros. offered Nolan’s take on the situation: “Chris wants the audience to catch up and participate rather than push everything at them. He doesn’t dumb things down. You’ve got to pedal faster to keep up.”

Definitely not an oversight then, Chris?

Well, there’s certainly one voice that can be heard loud and clear, and that belongs to the fans. Because today word has dropped that Nolan has taken the criticism on board and is currently busy at work tweeking the audio.

Website Collider has received info that a new sound mix has been provided to IMAX cinemas running TDKR’s prologue sequence, which significantly reduces background noise to highlight Bane’s dialogue.

It’s difficult to imagine why they didn’t do full ADR on the mask-wearing villain in the first place. It worked like gangbusters for a certain Sith Lord after all.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES on July 20th.

Ignore the above. News just in courtesy of The Playlist… apparently it’s all bollocks. Nolan ain’t touching a thing. Guess we’d better get our cycling shorts on, we’ve got a lot of peddling to do.
