Danielle Radcliffe

Despite rumours that Shia LeBeouf would be playing the main character, it seems that this was merely speculation as our own Daniel Radcliffe has taken the lead role in Alexandre Aja’s forthcoming adaptation of Joe Hill’s novel HORNS.

This is a further calculated move by Radcliffe to move away from Harry Potter with more darker and adult roles. Radcliffe seemed a little out of place in THE WOMAN IN BLACK but for this role he really needs to bring his A game as he will be playing a tragic figure who literally becomes a demon overnight.

For those of you not familiar with the book, HORNS follows a character named Ig Perrish who a whole town suspects killed his girlfriend but he has never been charged for it. One day after a drunken bender, Perrish wakes up with horns growing out of his head and finds he can read peoples thoughts. With his new found powers he slowly uncovers the truth behind his girlfriend’s murder.

A great deal of the success of this project will now hinge on who they cast as the villain and the girlfriend because this triangle really needs to work on screen if the film is to be anything other than just another horror film. Filming is due to begin in the autumn.
