Deus Ex

With the world about to face a fifth RESIDENT EVIL film and a second SILENT HILL, Hollywood studios are still looking at video games to mine them for possible franchises no matter how slim the actual plot.

One game that lends itself to the screen perfectly is the none-more-cyberpunk DEUS EX series. Now CBS films have purchased the rights to the series from company Square Enix with a view to turning it into a cinematic treat for the eyes and brain.

Starting in 2000 with the most recent instalment released late 2011, DEUS EX takes place in the near future where major advances in science have enabled human augmentation and triggered a technological renaissance. The most recent game followed Adam Jensen; an ex-SWAT cop who unravels a global conspiracy.

No director or writer is yet attached but current fan speculation wants Keanu Reeves to play Adam Jensen, which makes sense considering how much he loves the cyberpunk sub-genre.
