Yes, according to comic book legend Mark Millar who, in a recent interview with Scotland's premiere red top The Daily Record, dropped the following bombshell:
"We shoot Kick-Ass 2 and American Jesus this summer".
Since all involved in the excellent 2010 original have been disappointingly non-commitel on the eagerly-awaited sequel - including original director Matthew Vaughn - this comes as a huge surprise. If it really is to go before cameras later this year, the cast must already be in place, and negotiations for a replacement director and writer should technically be happening as we speak. Unless Millar is just messing with our minds of course...
As for AMERICAN JESUS, for those unfamiliar this is Millar's graphic novel telling the tale of a twelve-year-old boy who discovers he's actually the resurrection of Christ himself. We doth our caps to whichever brave studio is backing that one, as they're in for a world of shit from the religious right. Us on the other hand - can't wait.
We'll have more on these projects as they develop...
