Cockneys vs Zombies

James Moran’s brilliant Cockneys Vs Zombies was released in British cinemas last Friday (31st August) but you’ll have to look pretty hard to find a cinema that’s actually screening this witty, exciting and… ahem… British horror comedy. Meanwhile, our multiplexes remain clogged up with the likes of The Dark Knight Rises and The Bourne Legacy and yes, we’re all a bit bored with the summer blockbusters now, thanks all the same.

Sadly it looks as if you’re going to have to wait a few weeks until you get to see the East End’s finest – that’s Michelle Ryan, Rasmus Hardiker, Harry Treadaway, Alan Ford, Honor Blackman and not forgetting Richard Briers  – battle the undead hordes risen from a plague pit unearthed by building site workers. So here’s a date for your diary; Cockneys Vs Zombies arrives on DVD and Blu ray in the UK  on October 22nd. No word yet on special features but frankly just getting see the damned film again will be a relief after a stint in the cinema for which the word perfunctory might well have been invented.

Message to British cinemas – Support British films. Or at least show them now and again. Message ends.
