In one of the first projects to come from Amazon Studios, the online retailers turned movie moguls have tasked horror maestro Clive Barker to develop ZOMBIES VS. GLADIATORS.

Barker will rewrite and direct the project, which tells the tale of… well, you’ve probably guessed the thrust of it by the rather tired title.

Honestly, the only thing we’re really enthused about is Barker’s involvement, the zombie genre is surely reaching saturation point by now (evident in this writer’s reaction to a certain season finale recently). Can Barker deliver something fresh from the over-played mash-up formula? 

We’ll have more on this as it progresses…

But while we wait, all you budding screenwriters out there should head over to Amazon Studios and throw ’em your stuff. Who knows, if they’re pumping money into fluff like ZvG, you might stand a good chance of getting yours optioned!
