Ninjas, samurai, and sensei vs. dragons, skeleton armies, snake men, and the evil warlord Gagmadon. They have helicopters and motorbikes. And are all made of LEGO. Honestly, who wouldn’t want to direct the NINJAGO movie? Well, the job’s now gone to Charlie Bean.

Bean, the man behind animated series TRON: UPRISING, will be helming this big-screen adaptation of LEGO’s successful line, which was introduced in 2011 and has already spawned a Cartoon Network series and a video game. Though it’s his feature directorial debut, Bean’s shown good form with his television work and will be working with a script by Dan and Kevin Hageman, credited writers on the other LEGO movie.

Yep, that’s right, this is the second movie the Danish toy company have got coming up, after THE LEGO MOVIE, which will be out in February. Bean may have ninjas to play with, but that one has Ninja Turtles, Batman, and Morgan Freeman. Go on, admit it, you’re incredibly excited.
