A press release announcing that Sony Pictures and Media Rights Capitol will stick by Neill Blomkamp for his next post-ELYSIUM flick, CHAPPIE, has confirmed that it will indeed star the freaky South African cult rap duo Die Antwoord, aka Yo-Landi Vi$$er and Ninja (above). The pair will play gangsters who steal the titular A.I. robot (voiced by regular Blomkamp co-hort, Sharlto Copely) to help with their life of crime. That’s it for plot details at the moment, but with shooting scheduled to begin this Fall, expect more soon.

Blomkamp will direct CHAPPIE from a script he co-wrote with wife Terri Tatchell (DISTRICT 9), and will be produced by the ubiquitous Simon Kinberg (X-MEN FIRST CLASS / STAR WARS EPISODE VII).
