Speaking to ShockTillYouDrop, Toby Jones talked about his return as Armin Zola for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER. Jones played the role, a right-hand man of the Red Skull, in the first Cap film, although his return is still being kept relatively secret.

Jones said, “All I can say about it is that I was pleased to be brought back. I thought I might be – because you’d know better than I do – but Zola finds a way to defeat time and you won’t be disappointed with the way that’s been treated in the film, that’s what I would say.”

In the comic book world, Zola is a genetic engineer who mainly deals in clones. He’s responsible for creating clones for the likes of Hitler and various other ‘big bads.’ Being the brainbox that he is, he also manages to capture his own mental self into a robot, helping him to survive the war. The blueprints to said robotic body were briefly seen in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, so could this have been set up to hint at how his return is handled for the Cap sequel? I’ll guess we’ll have to wait for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER to be released on 4th April, 2014 before we find out.
