Veteran actor Robert Redford is currently in negotiations to appear in 2014’s CAPTAIN AMERICA sequel as a high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, according to Deadline.

If rumours prove true, Redford will add his acting gravitas to an already swelling cast that includes Chris Evans (naturally), Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Anthony Mackie as The Falcon, Frank Grillo as Crossbones, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes (returning as the titular Winter Soldier) and the recently confirmed Max Hernandez as Agent Jasper Sitwell. Hernandez was recently slapped on the wrist by Marvel for Tweeting about his return and teasing some interesting twists. Though the Tweets were deleted, net ninjas were able to copy them before they vanished…

“So it’s a much bigger role in a much darker Cap Story. Lots of twists and turns. And lots secrets about the MCU revealed!

I can’t say much more or the Marvel cops will revoke my SHIELD clearance! Trust me u will all freak out in the theatre when all is revealed!”

Trust us, we’re freaking out already Max!
