What would a Sam Raimi picture be without a cameo from his old mate Bruce Campbell? Exactly.

Despite Campbell himself recently breaking the disappointing news that his appearance in OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL had been cut from the film, the genre legend has now revealed it’s been reinstated. Huzzah! So what of the role itself? Well, he’s sticking with the word ‘pivotal’ to describe it (which we should take as typical Campbell self-deprecation), but is giving very little away as yet. Here’s what he had to say in a recent interview with the folks over at TheShiznet…

“The scene that I shot was a page and it took all day. It was great to see the scope of Oz and to see the detail, and the craftsmanship and the professionalism and the incredible stuff that they’re doing visually in every other way. I play a pivotal role. It involves me and Oz – that’s James Franco – and let’s just say that we have a confrontation. It was a very fun role to do actually.”

Campbell’s appearances in the SPIDER-MAN movies were always a highlight for us, so if this turns out to be in the same vein as those count us even more psyched to see what Raimi can do with the world of L. Frank Baum’s creation.

OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL opens March 8th 2013.
