Out of Nicolas Winding Refn, Ang Lee, Tom Hooper, David Yates and Shane Black, whom would your ideal choice be to helm the next Bond film? I know who I’d choose and it would not be Ang Lee! Can you imagine a two hour study of an alienated, marginalized, and repressed Bond?

So with SKYFALL director Sam Mendes being tempted back by producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the hunt is on to find a worthy replacement in case Mendes declines once more. After all Mendes is currently working on a stage adaptation of CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY as well as KING LEAR so that could delay production by up to a year. If Mendes should decide to concentrate his efforts on the theatre, Eon have shown an interest in all the chaps mentioned above. However don’t expect a decision to be finalised any time soon as current Bond Daniel Craig’s deal is still being ironed out. Given how successful the franchise has been with Craig in the titular role, his deal is expected to be very lucrative, and will probably include director approval. If that’s the case, please, please Mr Craig, don’t pick Ang Lee!
