Fans have been teased with the prospect of a Bioshock feature film for years. It even came close once, though how safe the source material would have been in the hands of Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski is questionable. The project, however, was dropped due to budget cuts. It was probably for the best.

It’s somewhat unexpected, then, that Sony has registered bioshock-movie.com, bioshock-movie.net and bioshock.net, at least according to the gaming site Kotaku. This may be a sign of things to come or an unfortunate rumour, of course more details as they break.

Gamers and movie fans alike are still waiting for a stunning adaption, and Bioshock may very well be the game to do that, after all it did change the face of gaming, why not cinema?
