One of the most intriguing projects in production is comic book adaptation I, FRANKENSTEIN. Aaron Eckhardt stars as Adam; Frankenstein’s monster controlling his hatred of humanity as a private investigator. He is being hunted by an army of demons who want to learn the secret of his creation so that they can amass an army of reanimated corpses. Bill Nighy has now joined the cast as the villainous demon prince who is behind all the supernatural shenanigans.

The film will be directed by Stuart Beattie (TOMORROW, WHEN THE WAR BEGAN) who also wrote the script based on the comic by Kevin Grevioux. The film is being produced by Lakeshore Entertainment with shooting due to commence in January in Australia. The film is then planned for release in early 2013.

The intriguing premise and the fact that they have hired Nighy and Eckhardt, a couple of serious thespians, is giving this project a lot of weight. Personally I can’t wait to see what they come up with; it’s high time someone put a fresh spin on Mary Shelley’s classic tale.
