The ASSASSIN’S CREED movie seems to have been in development for an age at this point. For a good year or more, Michael Fassbender has been attached to star and produce, but there’s been no word on a director. Until now.

Today brings word that Justin Kurzel, who is currently working on MACBETH with Fassbender, has been chosen to helm the video game adaptation. Apparently that decision was largely due to the fact that Fassbender enjoyed his time working with Kurzel and the two developed quite the relationship.

Despite only just having landed a director, ASSASSIN’S CREED has been pencilled in for a 7th August, 2015 release for a few months now.
